The proposal of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on the introduction of the UN peacekeeping contingent in the territory of Donbas occupied by the Russian Federation will stabilize the situation and stop the bloodshed, the People's Front party has said.

"If we talk about the introduction of a peacekeeping contingent from the collision line to the state border between Ukraine and the Russian Federation with the absolute control over this territory, stop in the delivery of weapons, fuel to militants, all Russian military equipment - all this will stabilize the situation, stop the bloodshed and prevent the continuation of Russian aggression," First Deputy Chairman of the People's Front faction Andriy Teteruk told reporters, commenting on the president's address to the Verkhovna Rada.

He stressed the idea of Russian authorities to place the UN peacekeeping contingent only on the collision line is futile.

"If to talk about the idea of the Russian Federation to put the peacekeeping contingent only to the collision line, this is an absolute nonsense, and I do not see any prospects in this. Ukraine will never allow and agree with this," he noted.
