An unknown object has exploded in Hrushevskoho Street in downtown Kyiv injuring two people, the Kyiv police communications department reported.

"At 14:06, the police control room received a report about an explosion of an unknown object in Hrushevskoho Street. A man and a woman were injured as the result of the explosion," the report said.

A task force and explosive experts are working at the scene. All the circumstances of the incident are being established.

The information about those injured is being clarified, the police said.
