Ukraine's transport companies carry 0.7% more passengers in Jan-July

Ukraine's transport enterprises (excluding Crimea and Sevastopol, as well as part of the ATO zone) in January-July 2017 increased passenger transportation by 0.7% compared to January-July 2016, to 2.69 billion people.

According to the State Statistics Service, passenger turnover for this period increased by 9.3%, to 57.3 billion passenger-kilometers.

Transportation by rail (including transportation by the city electric train) increased by 0.3%, to 98.8 million people.

Some 1.176 billion passengers were transported by road in January-July 2017, which is 0.2% more than in January-July 2016.

Air transport carried 5.8 million passengers, which is 36.8% more than in January-July 2016.

Transportation of passengers by trams, according to the State Statistics Service, decreased by 4%, to 390.6 million, trolleybuses rose by 2.1%, to 607.4 million, by the underground by 4.4%, to 410.1 million people.
