Ukrposhta subjected to new hacker attack

The national postal service Ukrposhta's website has been subjected to a DDoS attack for the second day in a row, which mainly targets the service of tracking parcels, the company said on its Facebook page on Tuesday.

"Today, hackers have become more active, due to their actions, both the website and services are working slowly and with interruptions," Ukrposhta said.

The company points out that during the first wave of the attack, which started in the morning on August 7, the IT service was able to normalize the situation, after 17:00 all services of the website worked properly.

Ukrposhta said it does everything possible to ensure that its customers receive the necessary information from the website without interruptions.

In late July the company said in its report for the first half of 2017, its computer network was seriously affected by the virus on June 27, which led to the blocking and total inoperability of its automated systems, and therefore the financial reporting may be later adjusted.

Ukrposhta is managed by Infrastructure Ministry. It provides over 50 types of services in almost 12,000 departments all over Ukraine.

It provides over 50 types of services through almost 12,000 postal offices across Ukraine. It has 76,000-strong personnel. Of them 33,000 are postal workers and 13,000 are mail service operators.
