The holy procession through the center of Kyiv organized by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) to commemorate the Baptism of Rus has ended. It was conducted without incident.

The Kyiv-based Interfax-Ukraine news agency said participants walked to Volodymyrsky Mount along Hrushevskoho and Mazepy Streets to Kyiv Pechersk Lavra Monastery, where church service will be held all night.

Hundreds of police guarded the religious procession.

Emergency medical workers said no marchers fell ill or sought assistance by 15.00.

"A middle-aged gentleman asked that we measure his blood pressure is all," a medical services representative said.
