The Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) for the settlement of the situation in Donbas in Minsk on Wednesday, while discussing the statement previously announced by the self-proclaimed leader of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko on the formation of Malorossiya, called for refraining from any confrontational statements that contradict the Minsk agreements.

"The statements about the so-called Malorossiya do not meet the fundamentals of the Minsk process and do not contribute to the settlement of the situation in Donbas. The attempt to divide Ukraine is not new and it failed in 2014. Instead of talking about the reintegration the Minsk process is aimed at, the representatives of the ORDO say about some separate ideas that are contrary to their obligations. The TCG called for refraining from any confrontational statements that contradict the Minsk agreements," Darka Olifer, a spokesperson for Leonid Kuchma, Ukraine's second president and representative in the Trilateral Contact Group, wrote on Facebook.

At the same time, she said that representatives of Ukraine during the meeting of the TCG urged the Russian Federation to condemn this statement of Zakharchenko.

"In this context, we call on the Russian Federation at all levels to condemn this unacceptable step of the ORDO, which is a total violation of the Minsk agreements," Olifer wrote.
