Ukraine is preparing specific proposals on the cancellation of roaming fees in the EU countries and will present them before the Eastern Partnership summit, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has said.

"Ukraine within the Eastern Partnership for the first time raised the issue of roaming fees cancellation and at first no one believed in it. I hope that we will come to the Eastern Partnership summit with concrete ideas on this," he said during a joint press conference with the foreign ministers of Sweden and Lithuania in Kyiv.

Klimkin said at present the issue of reducing the cost of education for Ukrainian students abroad is being discussed.

As reported, on June 10 Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said Ukraine is in talks with the EU to abolish fees for mobile communications roaming. According to him, the country is also working on introducing affordable transport links between Ukraine and the EU, attracting low-cost carriers and increasing the capabilities of border checkpoints.
