U.S. Embassy in Kyiv operating as usual
U.S. Embassy in Kyiv is currently operating in the usual mode.
"The embassy is operating as usual," the press service of the diplomatic mission told Interfax-Ukraine.
As it was reported, over the night into June 8 at 12:05 a.m., the duty police of Kyiv received a message about an explosion on the territory of the U.S. Embassy. Upon examination, it turned out that an unknown person threw an unidentified explosive device on the territory of the diplomatic mission. As a result of the explosion, no one was hurt.
A criminal proceeding was opened into the incident pursuant to Article 258 (terrorist act) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Measures are being carried out to identify those involved.
The police said that the collected materials would be transferred to the prosecutor's office and the SBU will investigate it afterwards.
The National Guard and the police strengthened the warding of the embassy.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine condemned this terrorist act.
