Groysman wants state food safety agency checked, results forwarded to NABU

Ukraine's Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman last week asked that the activities of Ukraine's State Service on Food Safety and Consumers' Rights Protection be checked and the results be forwarded to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU).

"Last week I asked for the check, and I think it will be interesting for grain traders, to begin a serious check of this state service. We are receiving signals that this state agency, especially at Odesa ports, is working inefficiently," Groysman said at the 13th Dragon Capital Ukraine Investor Conference in Kyiv on Thursday.

The PM called on business to present information about possible violations of the state service.

"We are conducting an internal investigation and will forward the results to the NABU," Groysman said, adding that if suspected violations are confirmed the perpetrators will be punished.
