The administration of the new president of the United States, Donald Trump, will continue supporting Ukraine and may even strengthen cooperation with Kyiv, Ukrainian diplomat, former Ambassador of Ukraine to the U.S. Oleksandr Motsyk has said.

"The role of Congress and the public in the U.S. is huge, and we can see today that the new administration has supported all the priorities the previous administration had supported," Motsyk said during the presentation of the analytical study "Ukrainian prism: Foreign Policy in 2016" in Kyiv on Thursday.

He noted that certain concerns about the future of relations between Kyiv and Washington were present after the elections in the U.S. "Fortunately, everything is unfolding the way it should be [...] We hope that the new administration will go even further in supporting Ukraine," the diplomat said.
