Ukraine's capacity in strategic transportation could become key one for NATO - Klimkin

Ukraine is interesting for NATO countries in the issue of strategic transportation, the key decisions on this aspect could be expected in the near future, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has said.

"Our capacity could become the key one for the alliance in the area of strategic transportation. We'll see in the near future whether it will be the decision of the alliance or a decision at the level of individual countries as there is such a possibility now. But I can already say that all our allies are very positive about using a Ukrainian component," Klimkin said at a briefing after a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO commission.

Asked about the state of negotiations on a strategic air transportation agreement between Ukraine and NATO in the light of the fact that a similar agreement with Russia expires this month, the minister said "we cannot help Russia technically because in such a way we will strengthen its ability to continue aggression."

"We have enough capacity to meet NATO needs. We are discussing how to implement this," Klimkin said.
