Kyiv reports injury of 4 servicemen in ATO zone in past 24 hours

The Ukrainian army had no fatalities in the Donbas conflict over the past day, yet four servicemen suffered injuries, Ukrainian Defense Ministry spokesman for military issues Oleksandr Motuzianyk said.

"None of Ukrainian servicemen was killed in the hostilities in the past 24 hours, yet four soldiers were wounded," he told a press briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.

The hostilities centered on Krymske in the Luhansk area where the hostiles twice used 120mm mortars, Motuzianyk said. Most shelling incidents were seen in the Popasna district, and the truce was also breached near Slovianoserbsk and Novotoshkivske in Stanytsia Luhanska district. In all, nine attacks, including two by use of heavy weapons, were observed in the Luhansk area in the past 24 hours, he said.

In the Donetsk sector, tensions persisted in Luhanske, the Zaitseve area, Mayorsk, Avdiyivka and near the Donetsk airport, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry spokesman said. In all, ten attacks happened in the Donetsk sector during the day, including four instances of use of heavy armaments.

Most attacks in the Mariupol sector occurred on the Pavlopil-Shyrokyne frontline, the spokesman said. The hostiles fired 82mm and 120mm mortars and 122mm cannons on Hnutove and two mortar attacks were seen in Krasnohorivka. As many as 31 hostile attacks, including ten employing heavy weapons, were observed in the Mariupol sector over the past day, he said.
