Poroshenko to meet with NATO Secretary General, EU leaders in Brussels

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will meet in Brussels on Thursday, October 20, and also make statements to the media.

"On October 20 in Brussels, President Petro Poroshenko will meet with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. Poroshenko and Stoltenberg are scheduled to brief media after the talks," the press service of the head of state said on Tuesday.

In addition, the president during his visit to Brussels intends to hold a number of meetings with the EU leaders on the same day. Poroshenko will meet with European Council President Donald Tusk, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz.

"The leaders of Ukraine and the EU institutions will discuss the situation in Donbas and Crimea, the state of implementation of the Minsk agreements and prospects for the sanctions regime against Russia in response to its aggression against Ukraine. Participants will also discuss progress in implementing reforms and ways to strengthen EU support, and will coordinate the next steps for the ratification of the Association Agreement and visa-free regime for the citizens of Ukraine," the press-service said.

Bilateral meetings between President of Ukraine with leaders of a number of EU member states are also on the agenda on the eve of the EU summit which is to be held in Brussels on October 20-21.
