Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) in Kyiv has resumed an investigation into unlawfully closed criminal case on the sale of UAH 77 million worth of shares in 34 construction and assembly and transport enterprises belonged to Kyivmiskbud Holding by six offshore Cypriot companies.

"At present, the shares have been returned to the lawful owner under court rulings. However, persons implicated in the illicit deals have not been punished," the PGO press service reported.

Pretrial investigation under Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (misappropriation, embezzlement or conversion of property by abuse of official post) is underway.

The fact of the unlawful close of the case was established during a revision of criminal cases related to operations of former Kyiv Mayor Leonid Chernovetsky and officials worked under his guidance. The revision is conducted under an order of Ukraine's Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko.
