One serviceman was killed and another suffered injuries in the hostilities in the anti-terrorist operation zone in eastern Ukraine in the past 24 hours, Ukrainian Presidential Administration spokesman Andriy Lysenko said at a press briefing in Kyiv.

"One Ukrainian soldier was killed and another was wounded in the hostilities over the past day," Lysenko said.

"On the Day of Ukrainian State Flag, the enemy applied the tactics of massive attacks on our forward and rear positions in practically every sector, using heavy armaments," he said.

Twenty-six out of 48 attacks conducted by the hostiles in the past 24 hours engaged heavy weapons, Lysenko said.
