Head of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine (PGO) Yuriy Lutsenko has personally delivered an indictment to Viktor Shvets, a judge of the Higher Economic Court of Ukraine.

"On July 27 PGO Head Yuriy Lutsenko personally handed an indictment to Higher Economic Court Judge Viktor Shvets, who is suspected of committing acts in violation of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, namely Part 2 Article 15, Part 4 Article 190, Part 2 Article 28, Part 2 Article 383, Part 2 Article 384," the PGO's press service said.

The alleged crimes involve large-scale embezzlement with a group of individuals, providing misinformation to a court on the pretrial investigation of a crime, concocting evidence for personal gain with a group of individuals, as well as providing false testimony for personal gain.

The PGO's press service emphasized the PGO head himself informs a judge of suspicion of crimes in compliance with the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine.

Shvets was informed of his rights and obligations as per Article 42 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and provided guidance about the rights and obligations of a suspect.
