The Ukrainian National Police's dog handlers have discovered two replicas of explosive devices and two caches of ball grenades with smoke flares at a roadside verge on the way of the sacred procession organized by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate in Kyiv's Kyiv-Sviatoshynsky district, Anton Gerashchenko, the Ukrainian parliamentarian of the People's Front faction and the advisor to the Interior Minister, said.

"The caches of F1 grenades were discovered in 3-5 meters off the roadside verge and posed the real threat to the participants of the procession in case of explosion. Bomb disposal experts with an anti-mine robot are working on the site," he wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.

He said that for the purpose of prevention of possible terror attacks the representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate were offered to transport the participants in the sacred procession via buses.

"The National Police hopes for discretion of the Moscow Patriarchate representative in the issues of providing the safety of the participants in the sacred procession and for their acceptance of the offer to get the participants in the sacred procession to the site of the religious service by motor vehicles," he said.
