Delay in visa-free regime with EU, lack of progress in Minsk process Ukraine's major failures in foreign policy

Experts say Ukraine's main failures in foreign policy in the first half of 2016 were the delay in the decision on a visa-free regime between Ukraine and the European Union, as well as lack of progress in the Minsk process.

As evidenced by the results of an expert survey conducted by the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation, voiced at a press conference in Kyiv, among Ukraine's failures in foreign policy are a losing referendum on ratification of the EU-Ukraine Association in the Netherlands, the delay in the decision on a visa-free regime with the EU, lack of progress in the Minsk process and in restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Among Ukraine's main failures in domestic policy is lack of real results in the fight against corruption, lack of responsibility for corruption, "conditionality" of the parliamentary coalition, low efficiency of the parliament, a sharp rise in housing tariffs and the ill-conceived system of subsidies.

The Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation conducted the survey "Political results of the six months of 2016" on July 14-21. Some 50 experts were polled.
