Poroshenko stresses importance of restoring Donbas infrastructure
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that the restoration of Donbas and the return of national sovereignty over the occupied territories are among the Ukrainian government's priorities.
"The first priority is the restoration of Donbas [...] The priority areas are the restoration of the destroyed infrastructure of Donbas, including the water and electricity supply, bridges," the head of state said in Kramatorsk during the oath taking ceremony by the patrol police of Kramatorsk and Sloviansk.
He recalled that funds were allocated for this purpose from the state budget of Ukraine and donor funds by international partners, including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Investment Bank, the G7 countries and the UN.
The head of state stressed the importance of drawing up a list of facilities that should be restored in Donbas using donor funds.
In addition, Poroshenko stressed that the key task was the restoration of the state sovereignty over the occupied territories.
