Cabinet postpones decision on gas prices for households for one month
Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers at a meeting on Wednesday has prolonged the resolution on the special commitment of national joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy to sell gas to households and heating supply companies on beneficial conditions until May 1.
"The decision to establish new gas prices for households and heating supply companies was postponed until May 1," the government reported.
The cabinet also published resolution No. 234 amending resolution No. 758 dated October 1, 2015 on the approval of the authorization of natural gas market players to secure the public interests in the functioning of the natural gas market (relations for the transition period).
The document sets the prices of natural gas by Naftogaz Ukrainy from its subsidiary, Ukrgazvydobuvannia, to form the resource of natural gas for the needs of households at the beneficial prices and the ceiling retail prices of natural gas for households, religious organizations and heating supply companies.
The cabinet was to set the gas prices for these consumers for the period from April 1, 2016 until March 2017 in a separate decision.
