TV broadcasting council removes 15 more Russian TV channels from adaptation list

The National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting has declared content of 15 Russian TV channels that do not meet the requirements of the European Convention on Transfrontier Television and banned their broadcasting in Ukrainian cable networks.

The decision was made by the regulator at a meeting on Thursday.

The following TV channels were removed from the list: Sovershenno Sekretno TV, Kto Est Kto TV, Shanson-TV, Park Razvlecheniy TV, Mir Seriala TV, Auto Plus TV, Kuhnya TV, KHL TV, Nauka 2.0 TV, Moya Planeta TV, Telecafe TV, Boets TV, Vremya: Dalekoye I Blizkoye TV, Nastoyascheye Strashnoe Televideniye NST TV and Sarafan TV.

The monitoring of these TV channels recorded the appearance of famous persons on their lineups who are placed to the list of persons that create a threat to national security. The TV channels also broadcast commercial advertising banned for broadcasting on foreign TV channels in Ukraine if they do not meet the requirements of the European Convention on Transfrontier Television.

Head of the Council Yuriy Artemenko said that the decision will take effect in a month from the moment of its publication.

The press service of the largest cable provider Volia-Cable told Interfax-Ukraine that the company will comply with the decision of the regulator and will try to replace the TV channels from the list (the provider broadcasts 11 of them) as soon as possible.
