Kyiv reports 81 strikes by militants in past 24 hours, shelling of Zaitseve continues

Militants forces have continued to attack Ukrainian Armed Forces positions in Donbas in the past 24 hours, using different kinds of weapons, the press center of the headquarters of the Anti-Terrorist Operation in eastern Ukraine has said.

"The enemy has opened fire on [Ukrainian army] positions 81 times in the past 24 hours," the press center said in a report published on its Facebook account on Friday morning.

According to the report, Ukrainian military checkpoints in Zaitseve and Mayorsk once again came under intense 82mm and 120mm mortar fire. The militants also used grenade launchers and small arms in the area.

Grenade launchers, large-caliber submachine guns and small arms were fired at Ukrainian army fortifications in Maryinka, Avdiyivka, Pisky and Opytne. Militant forces also fired mortars at Krasnohorivka.

Large-caliber submachine guns were used against Ukrainian military positions in Luhanske, at the Svitlodarsk arc.

Small arms and grenade launchers were fired at Ukrainian military fortifications in Troitske and Verkhniotoretske, near Horlivka.

Ukrainian army positions in Talakivka, near the Ukrainian-controlled port city of Mariupol, came under mortar fire.
