Ukrainian police find munitions cache in Donetsk region

The press service for the Druzhkivka police department of the Artemivsk police department of the Main Directorate of the Ukrainian National Police in Donetsk region released a report on Sunday alleging that officials from the Druzhkivka police department and Ukrainian Security Service officials found a cache containing thousands of cartridges, grenades and a manual anti-tank grenade launcher in a warehouse in the village of Ocheretyne, Yasynuvata district of Donetsk region.

"Over 9,000 cartridges of various caliber, 12 F-1 grenades and fuse assemblies for them, a manual anti-tank grenade launcher and an ammunition belt with cartridges were seized in an abandoned warehouse in the village of Ocheretyne, Yasynuvata district," the report says.

The report also says the police are now working to determine the owner of the weapons arsenal.

The investigations department of the Druzhkivka police department has opened a criminal case on the basis of the article dealing with "illegal handing of weapons, ammunition or explosive devices." The crime carries a punishment of up to seven years in prison.
