The militants opened fire on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas about 20 times last night, the army operation press center wrote on Facebook on Thursday morning.

Tensions were the highest in the Donetsk sector, the staff said. Ukrainian army units came under attack by small arms in Pisky and Opytne in the period from Wednesday evening till midnight. Snipers were active in Pisky and Opytne as well, Kyiv said.

The militants were conducting random grenade launcher and large-caliber machinegun fire on Leninske and Zaytseve near Horlivka, and used large-caliber machine guns against Luhanske.

The militants four times violated the truce by use of small arms near Pisky after midnight, Kyiv said, adding that Ukrainian servicemen did not return fire.
