Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland defense chiefs back Ukraine in desire to join NATO – Poltorak

Defense chiefs of Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland backed Ukraine in its aspirations for reforming the country to join NATO, Defense Minister of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak said.

"Personally I heard a clear stance of all defense ministers, who condemn Russian aggression against Ukraine and back us in our aspirations of reforming, European integration and joining the alliance [NATO]," Poltorak said following the negotiations with defense ministers of Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland in Kyiv on Monday.

Besides, the ministers summed up a military cooperation in 2015 and designated aspects of cooperation in 2016. Namely, the parties discussed military-technical cooperation, training of the specialists, medical preparation and joint trainings.

Poltorak has also informed that on Tuesday the participants of the meeting will go to Yavoriv training ground in Lviv region, where there are trainings involving U.S., Canada and Lithuania.
