Certain Russian charter flights to arrive in Antalya empty starting today, solely to repatriate tourists
A number of Russian tour operators may stop sending tourists to Turkey already on Wednesday.
A source in Antalya airport told Interfax the airport was ready to receive first Russian charter flights which will arrive empty with the sole purpose of repatriation of Russian citizens whose vacations were coming to an end.
"We are ready because we have received relevant notices from certain Russian tourism market players, who have said they will suspend the sending of tourists to Antalya today. The planes will arrive empty with the sole purpose of taking back Russians whose vacations are over," the source said.
Airport services have been informed about tour operators' refusal to accept locally made plane food for such aircraft, he said.
"According to the reports coming from tour operators, they do not need plane food, they will have their own, from Russia," the source said.
