President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed a law on one-time payments to volunteers and recruits injured in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) in Donbas, the president's press service reported on Tuesday morning.

"The president signed law of Ukraine No.735-VIII 'On amendments to the Law of Ukraine on the status of veterans of war, guarantees for their social protection to make a one-time payment to volunteers, recruits, who defend the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and to members of their families' [which was] adopted by Verkhovna Rada on November 3, 2015," reads the report.

The law provides for one-time payments to ATO participants who became disabled during their service.

For individuals included in Disabled Group I the one-time payment will total 250 minimum wages, 200 minimum wages for individuals included in Disabled Group II, and 150 minimum wages for individuals in Disabled Group III.

If the aforementioned individuals die, their families will receive a one-time payment of 500 minimum wages.

The law comes into force on the day of its publication.
