Gudrun Mosler-Tornstrom, the head of the Congress of Local & Regional Authorities to the Council of Europe, said the electoral process in the local elections in Ukraine was generally calm.

The voting day was generally calm and the voting went well, with the exception of some deviations from the rules, Gudrun Mosler-Tornstrom told a press conference in Kyiv on Monday

She said election commission members on most polling stations were able to effectively fulfill their duties, despite the complex legislation and procedures that needed to be followed. Additionally, voters were able to vote freely, without intimidation, Gudrun Mosler-Tornstrom said.
