Police open four cases due to violations in Kyiv region, including for vote-buying

KYIV. Oct 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The police have opened four criminal proceedings into the violations that took place during the elections in Kyiv region, two of them – due to the vote-buying.

"As of 21.00, during the voting of the citizens there were no serious violations at the voting stations. However, the police received 75 reports on the violations during the elections. The police opened four criminal proceedings, particularly two of them under Article 160 (vote-buying) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine," the press service of Kyiv region's office of the Interior Ministry reported on Sunday.

Four people in Vyshneve were detained when trying to bribe voters. The criminals had UAH 8,000 and lists of names with certain marks on them.

In addition, a 39-year-old man in Boryspil reported to the police that he had received the offer to vote for a candidate at mayor's elections for a monetary reward.
