Ukraine to take into account RAND Corporation's recommendations during Defense Ministry reform

The analysis of structures of Defense Ministry of Ukraine and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and recommendations of experts from RAND Corporation would be taken into account by Ukraine during the reformation of the defense agency.

According to a posting on the Defense Ministry's website, this was announced at a meeting of Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak with the company's expert group on October 23 in Kyiv.

"Mr. Jack Riley, U.S. HR Committee on Foreign Affairs mentioned that RAND Corporation as ordered by the Presidential Administration was working with the reforms project for security and defense system of Ukraine. Thus, its proposals will be used during the reform process of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry," reads the report.

After the meeting Poltorak announced the formation of a working group for analysis of these proposals.

"The work done by RAND Corporation is important. This working group consisting of Defense Ministry of Ukraine and General Staff experts will learn in details and analyze recommendations concerning their practical implementation," he said.
