Radical party decides to take part in local election, to terminate MP Vitko's mandate

Oleh Liashko's Radical Party has decided to participate in local election to be held on October 25 at its congress, to terminate MP Artem Vitko's mandate who left the parliamentary faction and condemned actions of Ukrainian authorities, accusing them of destroying parliamentarism, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent has reported.

Party Leader Liashko said that when a lawmaker leaves a faction under his own initiative, Part 6 of Article 80 of the Constitution of Ukraine says that the lawmaker's mandate is terminated earlier under a decision of the governing body of the party.

"Today we will submit the decision of the congress to the Central Election Commission (CEC), which is obliged to register next lawmakers in the list of Radical Party Tetiana Yuskova. If the CEC refuses to execute the decision of the congress and the requirements of the Constitution under an order of Poroshenko [Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko] we would challenge actions of the CEC in court," he said.

Radical Party passed a resolution of the congress on destruction of parliamentarism in Ukraine.

According to the resolution, current Ukrainian authorities want to discredit patriotic forces, first of all, Radical Party, which strongly opposes "authoritarian regime of Poroshenko, who became reincarnation of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and steps of authorities to new dictatorship and betrayal of Ukraine in order to please Russian President [Vladimir] Putin and Russia."

Radical Party calls on all Ukrainian patriots, democratic political forces to unite efforts to protect fundamental human rights, democracy, Constitution of Ukraine, social and economic rights of citizens, Ukraine's independence and sovereignty.

Speaking at the congress, Liashko said that the Radical Party faction condemns corruption, bribes and criminal deeds of high-ranking officials and if this faction MP Ihor Mosiychuk really committed a crime, he is to be sued. However, Liashko said that the parliament permitted to arrest Mosiychk illegally and not in the constitutional way.
