UIA to open new routes, increase frequency of flights in 2015/2016 winter navigation

Ukraine International Airlines (UIA, Kyiv), the largest airline in the country, plans in the winter navigation period of 2015-2016 to open new regular flights on the Kyiv-Ivano-Frankivsk and Kyiv-Aktau (Kazakhstan) routes.

"Aktau will be the third point in Kazakhstan, which the airline will serve. Previously, the city was named Shevchenko, so there are strong historical ties. This town is situated on the Caspian Sea, I think it will be interesting for those who are engaged in fishing. Naturally this is interesting for business communities that are involved in extraction of natural resources, because Aktau is one of the centers for production of oil, gas and the chemical industry center in Kazakhstan," UIA Vice President on Commerce Serhiy Fomenko told Interfax-Ukraine.

In general, he expects there to be large demand for the route to Aktau, in both business and leisure travel.

Speaking about the increasing frequency of existing flights during winter navigation, Fomenko noted that the frequency of flights on the Kyiv-Bangkok route will increase to five flights a week.
