European Commission welcomes results of Ukraine's talks with creditors' committee on debt restructuring - Juncker

President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker has welcomed the agreements reached by Ukraine and the committee of international creditors on public debt restructuring.

"We welcome the conclusion of the financial negotiations, which were completed today, and hope Ukraine is increasingly able to continue the reform process, the implementation of which has already begun. We are very pleased that these negotiations have been completed," Juncker said at a joint press conference with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in Brussels.

Poroshenko, in turn, added that the agreements are the same for all the creditors of Ukraine, including Russia.

"Yesterday Finance Minister Natalie Jaresko reported on this. We've passed to finalizing the terms of restructuring, more than $3.8 billion of debt will be written off, the delay for principal payment for four years is given, the current level of interest payment (7.75%) is provided and these conditions should be equal for everyone, including the Russian Federation," Poroshenko said.
