A quarter of Ukrainians approve of Poroshenko's actions – poll

A total of 24% of Ukrainian citizens fully or somewhat approve of the actions of Ukraine's president Petro Poroshenko, however 67% don't approve or somewhat don't approve of his actions, according to the results of a poll conducted by Rating sociological service.

Poroshenko has lost support since September 2014, when 55% of Ukrainians approved of his policies, and 35% - didn't.

In addition, the actions if the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine headed by Arseniy Yatseniuk are supported by 10% of the respondents, 84% - don't support the Cabinet. In September 2014, those figures were 48% and 42% respectively.

The actions of the Verkhovna Rada are approved of by 9% of Ukrainians, 84% - don't approve. In September those figures were 17% and 73% respectively.

Among the leading Ukrainian politicians, Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy has the highest level of support (36%). Poroshenko has 27%. Right Sector leader Dmytro Yarosh, leader of the Radical Party Oleh Liashko, and Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko enjoy the support of 25% the Ukrainian public. Batkivschyna leader Yulia Tymoshenko, - 22%, Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Groysman – 20%, Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin and Svoboda leader Oleh Tiahnybok – 19% each.

A total of 64% are ready to vote at the upcoming local elections, 28% won’t vote, and 8% hesitated to answer.

The poll was conducted across Ukraine except for Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions through July 10-30, 2015. The respondents were selected at random. A total of 1,200 Ukrainians were surveyed. The poll's margin of error doesn't exceed 2.8%.

In Odesa region, 665 residents were surveyed after being selected at random. The margin of error doesn't exceed 3.8%.

The poll was conducted by Rating and was ordered by IRI, with the financial support of USAID.
