Ukrainian diplomacy urges international community to make Russia to bring Savchenko back to Motherland

Foreign Ministry of Ukraine has protested against the refusal of the Rostov region's court to a change of venue of the court hearing under the case of Ukrainian parliamentarian and PACE delegate Nadia Savchenko, who was illegally detained in Russia.

"We treat this decision, along with deliberate delay of the court process, as one more proof of continuing legal arbitrary behavior and lawlessness of Russia that is accompanied by invented reasons for her detention," reads a statement from the Ukrainian diplomatic establishment released on Friday evening.

The Foreign Ministry one more time stressed on inadmissibility of a rough violation by Russia of internationally recognized immunities of Savchenko as a PACE member and Ukrainian MP and demanded the Russian party to immediately liberate her and other Ukrainian compatriots, who are kept on Russian territory against the law, and to ensure a full implementation of their international law obligations.

"We call to the international society to keep up pressurizing Russian party to bring Savchenko back to her Motherland and to stop breaching of the fundamental human rights in relation to other illegally detained political prisoners in Russia," the ministry stressed.

A note of protest over passing of such biased court decision was sent to Russian Foreign Ministry.
