Ukrainian troops at frontline in Donbas allowed to use fire-for-effect means – General Staff

The leadership of the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff has informed the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Russia's representatives to the Joint Center for Ceasefire Control and Coordination (JCCC), as well as Kyiv's Western partners of Minsk peace deal breaches by the militants and has said that it retains the right to appropriately respond to such challenges, including with the help of fire-for-effect means.

The press service of Ukraine's General Staff has reported that the Ukrainian side informed employees of the OSCE office in Kyiv, members of the OSCE monitoring mission and Russia's representatives to the JCCC about grave violations of the Minsk peace accords for Ukraine. The relevant information has also been forwarded to the country's Western partners through the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

"We retain the right to appropriate counter challenges from the militants, including by using fire-for-effect means. Military units of the anti-terrorist operation forces tackling their combat tasks at the frontline have been given the appropriate permission," the press service said.
