Kyiv police closed the criminal proceeding opened due to the death of former MP from the Party of Regions' faction Mykhailo Chechetov.

"The case has been closed due to the absence of the event of the crime. A full investigation was conducted, and when [we] came to the conclusion [that it was a suicide], it was closed," Deputy Head of the public office of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine's Main Directorate in Kyiv Iryna Biba said.

As reported, on March 1, 2015, MP of the seven convocation, former deputy head of the Regions Party's faction, ex-head of the State Property Fund, Mykhailo Chechetov, jumped out of the window of his apartment in Kyiv.

According to the police, Chechetov's wife found a note with approximately following content: "[I have] no more moral strength to suffer. [I] ask to understand and forgive [me]."
