As of today, over 2,800 Ukrainians have been released from militant captivity however 183 people remain as prisoners, advisor to Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Chief Yuriy Tandit has said.

"The [prisoner exchange] process is ongoing. The talks are conducted rather delicately as a part of the process. Everything we say we check, the work is done every day as a part of the Minsk accords… As of today, over 2,800 people were released, and this number is growing," Tandit said on TV Channel 5 on Wednesday.

He said that some of the information cannot become publically available as the SBU receives help "from patriots in the temporarily occupied territories of Luhansk and Donetsk regions."

He said that after talks in Minsk, Ukraine received lists of Ukrainians that militants are ready to exchange.

"Yesterday the SBU aired the figure – 183 people. These aren't only Ukrainian Armed Forces representatives, but also servicemen from the National Guard, volunteer battalions and even civilians. We know of all of them, enough information has been collected," Tandit said.
