The Verkhovna Rada has decided to extend the second session of the parliament of 8th convocation until September 1, 2015, when the third session should open.

A total of 229 lawmakers supported a relevant resolution at a parliament meeting on Thursday.

The resolution stipulates that when needed, Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Hroisman could call plenary sessions in order to resolve issues related to the situation in the country and the necessity for parliament to make relevant decisions.

According to the resolution, the speaker has to inform MPs of the time and place for holding such a meeting at least three days prior to a plenary session.
