Poroshenko annuls number of European integration orders of his predecessors

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has issued a decree annulling a number of presidential orders related to Ukraine's European integration that were signed through 1996-2011.

According to the president's website, corresponding decree No. 398/2015 "On recognizing certain acts of Ukrainian presidents as void" was signed on Tuesday.

"The president's order No. 5 as of January 12, 2015 approved 'Ukraine-2020' strategy of stable development and [order] No. 287 as of May 26 [approved] the strategy for Ukraine's national security. [The orders] clearly form Ukraine's European integration aspirations and take into account the new stage of relations between our state and the EU, which was put in the Ukraine-EU association agreement and corresponds with current reality," the president's press service reported.

The decree annuls order No. 771 "The issue of the National Agency of Ukraine on development and European integration" of August 30, 1996, order No. 148 "On ensuring the implementation of the agreement on cooperation and partnership between Ukraine and the EU and improving the cooperation mechanism with the EU" of February 24, 1998, order No. 615 "On approving the strategy of Ukraine's integration in the EU" of June 11, 1998, order No. 1072 "On the program of Ukraine's integration in the EU" of September 14, 2000, order No. 1146 "The issue of Ukraine's Commissioner for European Integration" of November 26, 2001, and order No. 573 "On ensuring the actions of Ukraine's Commissioner for European and North Atlantic Integration" of 2003.

Other annulled orders include No. 1433 "On the state programs on European and North Atlantic Integration for 2004-2007" of December 13, 2003, No. 493 "On strategy of economic and social development of Ukraine via 'European integration way' for 2094-2015" of April 28, 2004, No. 775 "The issue of regulating mutual trips of Ukrainian and EU citizens" of August 28, 2008 as well as a number decrees on amending other orders and articles and provisions in other decrees.

The following orders were also annulled – "On the list of central executive agencies responsible for implementation of tasks established by the Strategy of Ukraine's Implementation in the EU " of June 27, 1999, "On actions on organizational and propaganda provision of realization of the tasks derived from the president's messages to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine 'On Ukraine's Foreign and Internal Position in 2001'" and 'European Choice. Concept principles of strategy for Ukraine's economic and social development in 2002-2001'" of June 12, 2002, and "On certain issues of ensuring the competiveness of the national economy in European and North Atlantic integration" of October 3, 2005, as well as order No, 240 as of July 6, 2000.

The Cabinet of Ministers must bring its resolutions in line with the president's decree within three months.
