Ukraine and Lithuania will consider the issue of gas supply through the LNG terminal in Klaipeda and the Lithuania-Poland interconnector to Ukraine, head of the European integration department at the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry, Mykhailo Bno-Airiyan, wrote on his Facebook page.

This is contained in the protocol signed by the parties in Odesa on May June 2 within the framework of the 16th meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation.

"Ukraine expressed interest in buying natural gas from the LNG terminal in Klaipeda, which began work in December 2014. We see this as another way to diversify gas supplies to Ukraine. The protocol stipulates the interest of the parties to consider the possibility of supplying gas through the Lithuania-Poland interconnector (GIPL, the project is to be completed by 2019) and the Ukraine-Poland gas pipeline, which we consider to be strategic," he said.

According to him, the Ukrainian-Lithuanian intergovernmental commission, at a meeting on June 2, also considered the issue of building the Euro-Asian Oil Transportation Corridor.
