Twelve Ukrainians remain inaccessible in Nepal – Foreign Ministry

Ukrainian diplomats have yet to get in touch with twelve Ukrainian nationals in quake-stricken Nepal, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry told Interfax.

"As of now, twelve Ukrainian citizens are out of reach in Nepal," he said.

The ministry has no information about possible casualties caused by the latest tremors.

A 7.4-point quake shook Nepal on Tuesday. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) agency reported another two tremors measuring 5 and 6.3 points. So far, four persons have been reported dead. Many buildings are damaged.

The previous earthquake measuring 7.9 points happened in Nepal on April 25. At least 8,000 died and about 18,000 were injured.

An Ilyushin Il-76 plane of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry arrived in Kyiv from Nepal in the small hours of May 7 with 87 evacuees onboard, including 76 nationals of Ukraine and eleven citizens of other states.
