Ukraine-EU summit due at presidential administration on April 27

Ukraine-EU summit will be held at presidential administration on April 27.

A reception ceremony of summit participants is scheduled for 12:15 p.m., the presidential press service said.

Besides, at 16:15, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko will hold a press conference with European Council President Donald Tusk and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.

According to the EU Delegation to Ukraine, the summit will begin at 12:00 p.m. with Poroshenko-Tusk-Juncker private meeting at the House of Chimaeras.

Afterwards, a working dinner at the House of Chimaeras scheduled at 13:00 to discuss implementation of Minsk Agreements and regional issues.

A plenary session will follow at 14:30 in the presidential administration building to discuss bilateral issues.

The press conference for journalists to run after the end of the session, at 16:00.

Federica Mogherini, the EU High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy, and Johannes Hahn, the Commissioner for the European Neighbourhood Policy and the Enlargement Negotiations will also join the summit.

The Ukrainian delegation will be headed by President Petro Poroshenko.

The summit will be an opportunity to discuss the implementation of the Association Agreement and the political and economic reforms in Ukraine including EU financial and other assistance; the crisis in Eastern Ukraine and the application of the Minsk agreements, including the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM); regional issues and the preparations for the upcoming Eastern Partnership summit in Riga.

The summit will be followed by an international reform conference for Ukraine.

The last EU-Ukraine summit took place in Brussels on February 25, 2013.

Since then, there were many high-level contacts with Ukraine to prepare the signing and provisional application of the Association Agreement but also to address the security situation in Eastern Ukraine and the implementation of the Minsk agreements.
