Ukrainian army positions in Donbas attacked 23 times on Tuesday

The Ukrainian army positions came under 23 attacks in the period from 1800 until midnight on Tuesday.

The Ukrainian positions were attacked four times by use of 120mm mortars and once by tanks, the anti-terrorist operation press center wrote on Facebook on Wednesday morning. It also said that militants were firing automatic grenade launchers and small arms in the areas of Avdiyivka and Opytne.

Mortars fired at Ukrainian army positions near Chermalyk in the Mariupol area, and militanrs used small arms six times against an army stronghold near Shyrokyne.

"Notably, the shooting started at 17.30, soon after the departure of a fact finding team of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission that was visiting Shyrokyne on that day," the press center stressed.

A clash happened near Sokilnyky in Luhansk region at around 20.00. The press center alleged that the militia was using mortars, air defense launchers, and automatic and anti-tank grenade launchers. It also said that army positions came under small arms fire near Schastia and Orikhove in Luhansk region.

The army recorded 22 flights of drones in the period from 20.00 till 22.00. A drone flying at an altitude of over 3,000 meters from Starobilsk to Lyman in Luhansk region was shot down by an air defense launcher.

"Populated areas were not attacked in the reporting period," the press center said.
