The OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities and the OSCE Representative on the Freedom of Media will visit Ukraine next week, according to the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine.

"From March 16 until March 20, OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Astrid Thors is to come to Ukraine to meet with country's leaders and discuss the issue of protecting national minorities, as well as the problems of inter-ethnic relations and the language policy" Perebyinis said at a briefing in Kyiv on Wednesday.

He said that during his visit Thors plans to travel to the eastern and southern regions of Ukraine, including the Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhia regions, and Mariupol.

In addition, from March 17 until March 18, the OSCE Representative on the Freedom of the Media, Dunja Mijatovic will visit Kyiv to participate in the high-level seminar "the Regulation of TV and Radio Broadcasts during Times of Conflict" which will be organized by the OSCE Representative in Ukraine to the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council of Ukraine.

According to Perebyinis, Mijatovic will meet with the leaders of ministries and departments and will discuss ensuring the freedom of the media in Ukraine and the safety of journalists in eastern Ukraine.
