Poroshenko appoints Dniprov as Deputy Head of Presidential Administration

On Tuesday, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko signed decrees dismissing Ihor Rainin as Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, and appointed Oleksiy Dniprov to the same position.

"[The President] removes Ihor Lvovych Rainin from the position of Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine," reads the decree, posted on the president's website.

With another decree, Poroshenko appointed Oleksiy Dniprov instead.

According to the statement, Dniprov was previously Chief of Staff of the Education, Science and Sports Ministry (Deputy Minister). In his new position, he will be responsible for documents and protocols, conferment of nationality, and national awards.

"Oleksiy Dniprov is one of the most high-qualified managers of central governmental agencies of Ukraine. He has a broad working experience in the governmental bodies and he is not a political figure. Thus, he fully meets the Administration's policy of the technocratization [sic] and professionalization of the government. I am confident that such an experienced manager won't need much time to understand the situation and start working fruitfully," Head of the Presidential Administration Borys Lozhkin noted.

Deputy Prime Minister Viacheslav Kyrylenko and Education and Science Minister Serhiy Kvit also noted Dniprov's professional qualities.

In addition, decrees dismissing Ihor Baluta as Chairman of Kharkiv Regional State Administration, and appointing Rainin as his successor were posted on the website.
