Delegates to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on Wednesday approved amendment No. 13 to a PACE draft resolution, which "calls upon the Russian authorities to release [Ukrainian PACE member] Ms Savchenko within 24 hours," PACE wrote on its PACE News Twitter page.

"PACE has passed an amendment to the resolution, calling to release Nadia Savchenko within 24 hours! #FreeSavchenko," Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin wrote on Twitter.

Amendment 13 was tabled by Sergiy Vlasenko, Svitlana Zalischuk, Serhiy Sobolev, Maria Ionova, Yulia Liovochkina, Iryna Geraschenko, Olena Sotnyk, Serhiy Labaziuk, Serhiy Kiral, Pavlo Unguryan, Robert Walter, Egidijus Vareikis, Kristyna Zelienkova, Gabriela Peckova, Chiora Taktakishvili, Irakli Chikovani, Andre Bugnon, Judith Oehri, and Gerold Buechel.

In keeping with the amendment, the last sentence in paragraph 11 of the draft resolution should be replaced with the following sentence: "The Assembly calls upon the Russian authorities to release Ms Savchenko within 24 hours and to ensure her return to Ukraine."

Captive Ukrainian pilot, Member of Parliament of Ukraine Nadia Savchenko is now being held at a Russian pretrial detention facility.

At the same time, PACE turned out an amendment, tabled by Ukrainian delegates, to designate the self-proclaimed republics in Donetsk and Luhansk regions as "terrorist organizations."

Voting on the resolution will take place later.
