Yatseniuk, Biden discuss final stage of coalition formation

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has met with U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden, who is on a working visit to Kyiv, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers has reported.

Yatseniuk said that a coalition agreement had already been initialed and that Ukraine expected the speedy formation of a new Cabinet of Ministers in order "to implement the association and free trade agreement with the EU, move forward, change the country and implement real reforms."

Biden stressed the importance of the initialing of the coalition agreement. He said that it was important for the whole world to see that Ukraine had completed this process, appointed all ministers appointed and started to work.

He said that Ukraine had already made significant steps in the fight against corruption and in attempts to stabilize the economy in this very difficult situation. The United States wants to help Ukraine, Biden said.

He said that he considered it an honor to be in Kyiv on the first anniversary of the Maidan protests, when the Ukrainian people had shown incredible courage.
