Draft coalition agreement to be prepared by December 1 - Hroisman

A draft coalition agreement will be prepared and agreed by December 1, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Volodymyr Hroisman has said.

"We have tentative terms: by December 1 we have to come up with a clear coalition agreement and a reform plan," he said at a meeting with representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine in Kyiv on Friday.

He noted that the draft agreement currently consists of 13 sections and that it was being prepared by a working group.

Deputy Head of Ukraine's Presidential Administration Dmitry Shymkiv, who also attended the meeting, expressed hope that the coalition agreement would be a concrete action plan for the parliament and the coalition.

"Working groups are currently continuing to work, and there is a coordinator who collects all remarks from the working groups into a single document, which will include questions on which there is a consensus of political forces and a list of disagreements. And then the political forces will coordinate among themselves whether these articles will be included in the coalition agreement or not," he said.

The first session of the Verkhovna Rada of the eighth convocation is tentatively scheduled for December 1.

Hroisman was elected an MP on the party list of the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko.

Early parliamentary elections in Ukraine were held on October 26.
