Sixty border guards have been killed during the operation in eastern Ukraine, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said.

"Sixty of our sworn brothers, border guards, have died, they sacrificed the most valuable thing they had, their lives, for the homeland," the president said at a border guards training center near Cherkassy on Monday.
